Young flower bud.

"Moonflower"-Mt. Shasta, California

underside of flower-Mt. Shasta, California A study in “moonflowers” we don’t really know the name of this flower, but it is interesting as a bud, the varigations in the blossom and even the purple underside is interesting. We called them moonflowers because they don’t close up at night and they can be seen glowing in the field during a full moon.

wild field pea-Mt. Shasta, California

This looks like a wild field pea. The flower itself was tiny, maybe the size of a womans pinky finger nail.
